Ashni was born  in San Francisco, California. Her mother was a
prostitute who didn't take the appropriate precautions one night with a
smooth talking Lieutenant from Starfleet. She only knew his first name,
Thomas, and never anything more. She has raised Ashni by herself.

After Ashni was born, her mother quit her "profession" and became a
secretary at San Francisco State University. She wanted to raise her
daughter properly and give her all the good things in life.

Ashni was a very impulsive child, very curious, and frequently got into
scrapes because of not thinking things through. She was an average
student, having to work very hard at her classes because she had such a
short attention span. Her one area that she did excel in was nature
studies. She loved the outdoors and studying everything about it.

After graduation, she decided to join Starfleet. She wanted to travel to
new and exotic places and explore new possibilities. Her mother tried to
talk her out of it, as she was afraid she would lose her, but to no
avail.

She majored in the natural sciences, zoology, biology, etc. She also
excelled in martial arts courses. She had finally found her element. Her
short attention span did not appear to affect her as long as she studied
courses she had a knack for.

Hobbies: rollerskating, gambling, acrobatics, dancing, singing, martial
arts

Special Abilities: Ashni can "read" things off of plants. The last
people who passed, emotions, an occasional action. It is very fleeting and only
conveys a small amount of information, and only information transmitted
within the previous week. She also has an affinity to felines, and a
telepathic link with them, although with most normal cats, she only gets
vague animal information and emotions. This is different with her cat.
She has a "familiar" that is a siamese cat named Minky. She can
telepathically communicate with this cat, even at large distances. The cat is
intelligent, although, without human vocal cords, is obviously unable to
talk.

Counselors Report:
Ashni is very curious and a bit impulsive. She tends to break the rules,
and then deal with the consequences. She has settled some in the last
few years, but still can be a handful.

from rollerskating accidents. She tends to get many bumps and bruises in
her many activities. Other than the occasional accident, her health is
